Our sustainability journey begins with our love for the local land and our determination to protect it by making responsible, certified choices, together.

A place where respect shapes not only our relationship with nature, but also how we connect with others and the local economy. It’s an ambitious goal, but one we believe is achievable, one step at a time.
By setting a good example, we hope to help preserve the natural beauty and cultural heritage that make our region so special — today and for generations to come.
Casavecchia is certified according to the international standards of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC), confirming our commitment to responsible and sustainable tourism management.
Our Sustainability Pillars
Clean Energy & Energy Efficiency
- We use energy from 100% renewable sources, partly produced directly through our photovoltaic system.
- All lighting has been switched to LED with motion sensors
- Our biomass boiler (pellet-fuelled) is supported by 25 m² of solar panels
- We monitor energy consumption to continuously improve the efficiency of the facility.
- We monitor our CO₂ emissions every year to continuously improve our environmental performance and reduce our impact on the local area.
Water Conservation & Resource Protection
- We’ve installed EcoSmart taps and mixers with a flow rate of 5 litres per minute
- Dual-flush toilets save up to 4 litres of water per use
- Bed linen and towels are changed weekly or on request
Waste: less waste, more awareness
- Meat processing scraps are first used to make brown stock.
- Organic waste is redistributed to vegetable gardens or used to feed animals.
- We donate coffee grounds for agricultural use and sell used oil for reuse.
- We separate waste and encourage our guests to collaborate through welcome kits and information materials.
- We reduce packaging wherever possible: glass carafes, dispensers and no water bottles thanks to microfiltration.
- Some suppliers collect reusable containers such as crates, boxes and bags.
Ethical, Seasonal and Local Food
- Some cheeses come from Latte Ledro, and some cured meats from Macelleria Cis.
- Whenever possible, we purchase local honey, organic and fair trade Pompadour herbal teas, and Ariva coffee by Omkafè.
- The meat comes from free-range farms, and the fish does not come from endangered species.
- The menu includes traditional dishes and, whenever possible, the use of zero-kilometre ingredients such as trout, game, mountain pasture cheeses and some Slow Food Presidia.
- We offer vegetarian and vegan options, as well as personalised menus for food intolerances.
Eco-Friendly & Efficient Products
- Most of our detergents are ecological and carefully dosed.
- We mainly use sustainably certified paper and returnable or recycled containers.
- We avoid single-use items and mostly purchase products in large or biodegradable formats.
Sustainable Transport
- We’re just 100 metres from the nearest bus stop
- Public transport is free with the Garda Guest Card
- We offer on-site mountain bike hire and discounts with E-Bike Ledro
- We have electric vehicle charging points and parking spaces for e-bikes
Biodiversity & Landscape
- In 2023, we purchased a neighbouring woodland to increase absorption capacity.
- Our green spaces are managed without pesticides, using hedges instead of fences
- We’re pet-friendly
- We promote best practices for interacting with local wildlife
- We support destination guidelines for visits to natural heritage sites, such as the UNESCO-listed Lake Ledro pile dwellings and the local Biosphere Reserve
People First
- We reject all forms of exploitation, harassment or discrimination based on gender, ethnicity, religion or disability.
- We have a Code of Ethics available online
- Our team includes local staff and returning seasonal workers
- We invest in training through the Bilateral Tourism Board and the FOR.TE fund
- We empower staff to independently track and choose the most relevant training courses for them
- We provide a safe, fair and respectful workplace
- Our team receives the Garda Trentino Crew Card, giving them access to more than 140 experiences across the region
Celebrating Local Culture
- We’re proud to support and promote the cultural and historical heritage of the Ledro Valley
- By backing local initiatives, we help strengthen the valley’s identity and build deeper connections between guests and the community
- We support the local community via donations and sponsorships to Pro Loco and local sports teams
- We work with cultural organisations and associations such as La Coccinella (which supports transport for the elderly) and A.P.A.N.
- We promote the Clean Up Days initiative, combining litter picking with a guided visit to the Bezzecca trenches led by an expert from the MART museum, blending participation, environmental awareness and culture

- Our main entrance has been redesigned for easy access
- A lift serves all floors to ensure full mobility
- Two rooms are fully equipped for guests with disabilities, with spacious layouts, bathrooms with accessible showers and mobility aids that comply with regulations
